Touch: If you feel astringent and dry, there is no previous warm and smooth feeling, or there is obvious "resistance" when touched, it means that the wood lacks oil and needs to be waxed;
Look at the gloss: Observe the surface, if the original natural luster becomes dull, dull, or even slightly whitish and rough locally, it may be that the wax layer is worn and the wax needs to be replenished;
Test waterproofing: If a small amount of water is dropped on the surface of the furniture, if the moisture penetrates quickly (instead of forming water droplets rolling down), it means that the water resistance of the wood is reduced, the wax layer protection is insufficient, and waxing is required;
Check for wear: If there are slight scratches on the surface, or obvious wear marks on the wax layer after daily use (such as high-frequency contact on the edge of the tabletop or near the cabinet door handle), it also needs to be repaired and protected by waxing.
